1800s Calico French Calash Bonnet

Gorgeous museum quality calash style bonnet from 1800s France, in an 'American style'. There's elaborate wire interior that creates its dramatic shape. The bonnet is made of a beautiful black and white calico print fabric with self fabric embellishment. The edges are tightly gathered scalloped throughout -- this is not a commonly seen detail on bonnets. Ties closed in the front. It has age related flaws but the fabric is still in very strong wearable condition. One size fits many!
