Rare 1980s sculptural ruffle knit top from BodyMap. It is made from an extremely soft cotton yarn. It can be worn off one shoulder if so desired. Comfortable and fairly free size. It is in excellent condition apart from a bit of sun bleaching on the ruffled edges (see photos). Hand-knit in England.
BodyMap was a highly influential label in the 1980s, however pieces by them are rare to come by and very collectible. BodyMap's layered and body-con fashions, highly influenced by punk and club culture at the time, presented a rare combination of avant-garde yet "functional" and "comfortable" ready-to-wear clothing.
