Antique Undershirt with Intricate Wool Darns
$305
One of a kind and extremely beautiful antique darned undershirt from France. Pieces like this one are extremely rare and hard to come by! This particular piece is museum quality. Darning is a sewing technique for repairing holes or worn areas in fabric or knitting by hand. As you can imagine, the amount of darning on this shirt presumably took a long time. This piece is even more unique because the darner used wool thread to repair the holes in this cotton shirt. The thick wool thread creates an unusual and sculptural texture on the shirt. The shirt is fairly open size.
