Antique French Short Flannel Petticoat with Scalloped Silk Trim

Late Victorian or Edwardian light yellow wool flannel winter petticoat with ornately scalloped silk trim. Many late Victorian and Edwardian petticoats were actually cut right under the knee for greater mobility. The skirt has beautiful embroidery on top of the seams, a delicate monogram, as well as on trimming the scalloped ruffles. The skirt is in strong and wearable condition, however it does have scattered moth bites to the fabric (see photos).
