1990 Romeo Gigli Brocade Bandeau

Documented Spring/Summer 1990 Romeo Gigli brocade bandeau or waist trainer-- shown here as a bandeau but worn on the runway as a waist corset. The corset is made of olive green textured silk, with sumptuous floral brocade framed by textural embroidery. A paradigmatic example of Gigli's early work which is heavily influenced by Italian Renaissance and Baroque painting-- a work of art. In excellent vintage condition, with some slight wear to the silk at the back of the garment. Made in Italy, marked size 42.
