A very rare printed jacket from the late 18th century France. The jacket features a vivid and detailed multilayered print. The jacket is entirely handmade and hand-sewn, and is lined in a light flannel. It has string closures across the front which cinch the jacket into the shape as it would be worn historically with a stomacher or waistcoat, and fichu but it can also be worn open. It also has strings at the back which would attach it to the skirt of the dress. It is in shockingly great condition for it its age!
