1890s Vermicular Print Calico Bloomers

Antique split crotch bloomers from 1890s France, from a manufacturer in Bordeaux. They are made from a "vermincular" printed cotton, referring to a genre of printed textiles designs which emerged during the late 19th century which were inspired by the view under a microscope. They are made from a sturdy cotton with a very lightly fleeced interior and a drawstring at the back. They are unworn old stock.
