1870s Linen Traveling Duster Dress

Rare, antique linen jacket dress from the 1870s which was an ensemble for 'traveling'. It has 44 gorgeous buttons and has a faux double breasted effect down the front. It is beautifully cut and has a caged back with angular straps which attach with mother of pearl buttons. The dress was meant to be worn with the lobster tail bustles of the day. It is made of a taupe colored natural linen fabric The jacket has all of its buttons and is in fabulous condition- strong and wearable!
